design intern

Your Role

We are seeking a passionate Design Intern to join our growing business! You’ll work with our design and account management teams to identify clients’ needs, recommend space, furniture and material requirements, and ensure our solutions exceed clients’ expectations. You’ll learn how to design educational spaces, with projects ranging from one classroom, library or media center to re imaging 50 classrooms for an entire school district, or even designing first-of-its kind learning environments. You’ll also work with leading A&D firms, which is an awesome networking opportunity. This internship will give you the experience you need to start a successful design career!

Responsibilities

• Support design team to develop actionable design solutions based off client needs

• Support the design, layout and product specification, which includes the creation and development of drawings in AutoCAD or other software

• Support account management team with creative design thinking and multimedia presentations for clients

• Attend client meetings to ensure client needs and feedback are captured & acted on

• Learn how to become a materials expert for multiple manufactures’ furniture

• Manage the office resource room, ensuring the design & account team can easily source materials for client meetings

• Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practices & share with the larger team

  Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and well organized

• Excellent time & project management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects at a time

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills for teamwork & client communication    

  Preferred, but not required

• Experience in AutoCAD, CET, InDesign

• Currently enrolled in Interior Design courses or attending college to pursue Interior Design
